As many of you know, my heart and my work are dedicated to supporting survivors of interpersonal violence as a forensic interviewer and examiner. This year, as we celebrate our annual ‘Victory for Victims,’ I’m reflecting on a major milestone: I have now completed over 1,500 forensic interviews and exams
Behind every one of those numbers is a person who deserved a voice and a safe place to start their journey toward healing. Our doors never close—we are available 24/7/365 to ensure no victim ever has to wait for the care and justice they deserve.
We are all so proud to show up for our patient's and play a roll in their healing journey. Here at the Center for Assault treatment Services (C.A.T.S) we conduct the forensic interview, the forensic exam which includes DNA collection, offer resources and then testify to the work we have done in court. It is just the beginning of their journey and we are proud to be one of the first steps working alongside law enforcement and advocates. Thank you for standing by me so I can stand by them.
